As I recently visited Hungary, I had the unique experience to spend two days in the small town of Heviz, next to the lake Balaton. "The curative Lake of Heviz is the largest biologically active, natural, peat-mud thermal lake of volcanic origin in the world." My 3hours treatment included: a Body scrub, a head and body shampoo/rinse, followed by a mud wrap and a good Body Massage. All this for only 350.00 Moroccan Dirham or about €35.00

Saunas are well known in Europe and all over the world. I tried and enjoyed many of them already. The one I will talk about now is very close to us, in the new, modern part of Luxembourg city, on the Kirchberg, full of new buildings, hotels, banks and European institutions. The unique architectural building is called "Coque" (eggshell) and I go there to the pool and the sauna about once or twice a month. The first time I tried a hamam was in Morocco a few years ago and it was a fabulous experience; but, I always wanted to try the real Turkish hamam. After all, it originated there. This January when we visited Istanbul, at the center of the city, we found the Cagaloglu hamam which is listed on the book <1,000 Places to see before you die>.
