A few weeks ago I participated in a prestigious business women's event where I represented Eminence Organic Skin Care Line. I chose this line for my Face and Body Treatments in my salon and the products I sell for home care to my clients. Normally, I don't do these kinds of events but this was a new and challenging experience for me. 99% of my clients that I have acquired here in Luxembourg were through world of mouth but pretty much this was the same case as in New York. I have a few client/friends (Wendy & Muriel) who sent me so many clients over the past year that I cannot thank them enough. I believe most of my clients trust me with my treatments and with the products that I recommend. At this event, I really wanted to experience and see how I would sell to others who had no knowledge of this skin care line. With the help of my partner Patrick (in the photo), we created a beautiful stand displaying all the products.
We prepared for days for his event and when the big day arrived we were extremely excited. We had a lot of interest at our stand. People came by to sample the products and asked questions about the skin care line. I was a little bit disappointed by how much people still do not know about organic skin care and also how skeptical they are about them. I will try to explain here why I like this line very much.
Organic skin care cosmetics and I go way back. Back in Hungary in the late 80’s (a long, long time ago), I took a class with the founder of llcsi Organic Skin Care, which still exists in Hungary. http/www.ilcsi.com/home/ In the 90’s a Hungarian businessman, Boldizsar took the skin care line over to the States and Canada and created Eminence Organic Skin Care. https://eminenceorganics.com/ca
About the same time, I started my career as an esthetician in the New York/New Jersey area. I met with him numerous times at the New York City skin care shows and I used a few of his professional products at the time. I was also a bit skeptical over the years but as I learned more about the products and the more I used them, the more I grew to appreciate and love Eminence Organics. Meanwhile, I also learned a little bit about organic farming and I am proud to say that I have a tiny organic garden here in Luxembourg. Organic is because I use compost, crop rotation, biological pest control and I don’t use any kind of fertilizers or pesticides. It's true that the weeds grow faster than the plants and it is hard work but it fantastic to know that while I produce my own vegetables I don't put any harmful chemicals into my body!!! Eminence has very strict rules when it comes to being organic which I admire.
I will list some of their rules here:
FARMING • Ingredient farms in Hungary are powered by solar and wind energy • Geothermal heating in their laboratory • Natural compost during planting • Planting and harvesting is conducted manually to decrease CO2 emissions • Use of only natural plant preservation techniques INGREDIENTS • Their partners and farms produce natural, organic and Biodynamic® fruits and vegetables
PRODUCTS • Products are handmade without severe heating or hydrogenating processes that can affect the nutritional content and potency of natural ingredients • Vitamins are captured in their all-natural fresh base, seeds, pulps and peels impart regenerative and healing powers that only nature can produce • Free of parabens, animal by-products, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, harmful colorants and fragrances, mineral oils, petroleum, and other harsh cosmetic chemicals
FORESTS FOR THE FUTURE For every product sold they plant a tree through Forests for the Future.
PACKAGING • All boxes are made from post-consumer recycled material and can be recycled • Containers are made out of recycled, non-toxic plastic and are recyclable • All packing boxes are reused or recycled • Packing chips are made of 100% biodegradable corn that dissolves harmlessly in water.
Any time you visit my Salon, I can happily show you these corn packing chips which you can almost eat. To be skeptical is natural but we have to educate ourselves about new things and ultimately make the right choices. I am optimistic and I know now and in the future more and more people will realize that eating organically and using organic made products are so much better for us and also for our environment.
